We are the workers in the informal sector/economy, organized nationally, formally and informally bringing people together, who collectively work towards empowerment, social protection, poverty alleviation and engage in democratic participation in governance.
We engage in a long-term effort at deeper and dynamic relationships among ourselves by living in harmony, love and peace among ourselves and with nature towards leadrepreneurship, spiritual and cultural development and for us to enjoy the fruits of a progressive Philippines.
Reflected in all we do are the requirements of a collective work and organizational strengthening, partnerships based on honesty and respect, innovations and commitment to share learning.
Our change agenda is anchored in providing decent work for all: sustainable development, protection of human rights at homes, social protection inside and outside the workplaces, and human dignity that respects both men and women.
The most important goal of our change agenda for the next five years are:
- Organizing by sub-sectors.
- Strengthened capacity of the workers in the informal sector/economy to manage and protect their resources, rights and welfare in a sustainable manner.
- Better informal sector responsive policy and legal environment.
- Universal coverage of social security.
- Increased access to productive resources.
- Represented in relevant national and local decision and policy making bodies.
- Protected from any form of violence.
- Safe and healthy workplaces.
- Improved access to justice.
- Child labour eliminated in informal work.
- Enterprise development.
- Governance, maternal death recuction and
- Early breastfeeding.
Determined to sustain the sectoral agenda and the advocacy gains to be localized, the current members of the National Anti-Poverty Commission-Workers Informal Sector Agenda, representing the seventeen administrative regions of the country, organized themselves as “ALLWIES” in July 11, 2008 and sought accreditation with the Department of Labor as workers association. ALLWIES will continue engaging with the government and tripartite bodies through Social Dialogue.
